Michigan’s Cannabis Regulatory Agency on Tuesday recalled various flavors of Bloom vape cartridges that contain a diluting agent that could be harmful to consumers.
The vape cartridges, produced by Detroit-based Exhale Systems Inc., are being recalled because they contain medium chain triglyceride (MCT) oil and should not be consumed, the CRA said.
The voluntary recall comes just weeks after Platinum Vape-branded vape cartridges were also recalled for MCT oil, which was the first recall of a product for MCT oil in Michigan since the testing requirement for this diluting agent went into effect in October, media reports.
The impacted products include the strains Alien Jack, Blue Dream, Cereal Milk, Champagne Kush, Durban Gelato, Face Off OG, Forbidden Fruit, Green Crack, Jack Herer, Maui Wowie, Pineapple Express, Pineapple Sherbert, Rainbow Runtz, Skywalker and White Widow, the CRA said.
About 18,000 of the impacted vape cartridges have been sold and 5,000 remain at marijuana dispensaries, David Harns, a CRA spokesperson, said.
