Israel’s Health Ministry announced on March 6 that it will require graphic warning images on cigarette packs to discourage smoking.

The new regulations will extend to a variety of tobacco products, including cigarettes, e-cigarettes, hookahs, and chewing tobacco.

Israel will also become one of the first countries worldwide to mandate combined health warnings on e-cigarettes and their components.

The warnings will feature images of decayed organs, individuals on ventilators, and children exposed to cigarette smoke, alongside the existing written health warnings.

“This is another significant step in reducing the attractiveness of tobacco products and preventing youth addiction to tobacco and nicotine,” said Health Minister Uriel Busso.
