Top Takeaways:
- Boveda rebrands, not retools: Its cannabis humidity products will now be sold under the Vivi name, with no changes to materials, performance, or two-way humidity technology.
- Cannabis gets its own lane: Vivi will anchor a dedicated cure-to-storage system and team focused exclusively on cultivators, home growers, and consumers.
- Long-term bet on cannabis: The move formalizes Boveda’s presence in a market it has served since 2007 as legalization and professionalization continue to expand.
Boveda announced that it has rebranded its two-way humidity control products for the cannabis market under the new name Vivi, while keeping the underlying materials, construction, and performance unchanged.
The move separates Boveda’s cannabis-focused offerings from its core portfolio, which serves other moisture-sensitive categories, including premium cigars, musical instruments, and medical devices. Boveda said the Vivi brand will serve as the foundation for a broader cure-to-storage system for cannabis, spanning post-harvest curing through long-term storage, reports Charlie Minato of halfwheel.
The company emphasized that the rebrand is strictly a branding and organizational shift. The humidity control technology itself remains the same two-way system Boveda has supplied to the cannabis sector since 2007, designed to add and remove moisture to maintain a consistent relative humidity.
Under the new structure, Vivi will operate with a dedicated team focused exclusively on cannabis customers, including cultivators, home growers, and consumers. Boveda said the goal is to provide more tailored support, education, and product development for the cannabis industry while preserving the performance characteristics users already know and trust.
Boveda has built its reputation on humidity-control solutions for products where moisture stability is critical to quality and longevity. By carving out a standalone cannabis brand, the company said it aims to strengthen its long-term presence in a market that has become increasingly segmented and compliance-driven as legalization expands across U.S. states and international markets.
The company did not disclose whether any additional Vivi-branded products beyond humidity packs are expected to launch in the near term, but said the brand is intended to scale alongside the evolving needs of the cannabis supply chain.
