Pyxus International, Inc. has been recognized by CDP, the international nonprofit that operates one of the world’s most widely used environmental disclosure platforms, as a global leader in environmental performance and transparency.
CDP ranked Pyxus among the top tier of responding companies in both the climate change and forestry categories, awarding the company “Leadership” status and an improved “A-” rating in each. Pyxus also maintained “Management” status with a “B” rating in water security, reflecting its actions to address environmental impacts and strengthen water stewardship practices.
“This recognition underscores the strength and credibility of our environmental efforts as we continue to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, advance responsible water stewardship and mitigate deforestation through disciplined execution and transparent reporting,” said Pyxus President and CEO Pieter Sikkel. “Our progress is driven by the dedication of our global teams, our culture of accountability and ongoing collaboration with stakeholders across the value chain.”
CDP scores companies on a scale from A to D-, evaluating disclosure quality, awareness of environmental risks, and the implementation of best practices. For the 2025 disclosure cycle, more than 23,100 entities were assessed globally, with scoring conducted by CDP-accredited partners.
Pyxus’ results reflect data compiled across its family of companies, which operate within its global leaf tobacco and agricultural supply platform. The company began reporting greenhouse gas emissions to CDP in 2009, expanded its disclosures to include water data in 2014, and added forestry-related reporting in 2020.
For agricultural supply-chain companies operating across multiple origins, CDP leadership status signals enhanced transparency and risk management in areas increasingly scrutinized by multinational customers, investors and regulators — particularly emissions reduction, water use and deforestation mitigation.
