Habanos S.A. has appointed Dariel Regal Veitia as its new Operational Marketing Director, completing a career journey that began at a cigar-rolling table.
Regal has been involved in the Cuban cigar industry since 2010, when he started as a torcedor at the H. Upmann factory. Habanos said the position gave Regal “firsthand knowledge of the product and its production process.”
Regal joined Habanos in 2020 and has since worked in the company’s quality, purchasing, and sales departments. Habanos said those roles provided him with “extensive commercial and international market experience.”
The appointment comes as Beatriz Garrido, who was appointed Habanos’ Operational Marketing Director in 2023, is believed to be leaving the company for unknown reasons.
Habanos has not confirmed or publicly announced her exit.
