The owner of the Urb vape brand is asking a federal judge to award more than $314,000 after alleging that a California distributor failed to pay for vape products it ordered and never responded to the lawsuit.

Lifted Liquids Inc., an Illinois-based manufacturer and distributor of Urb vaping products, has filed a motion for default judgment in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against American Smoke & Vape Inc. (ASV), seeking $314,000 in damages for unpaid product shipments.

According to court filings, Lifted Liquids alleges it sold and delivered multiple orders of vape products to ASV under a commercial sales agreement but was never paid the outstanding balance. The complaint alleges that the failure to pay the invoices prompted Lifted Liquids to file suit for breach of contract and related claims.

Lifted Liquids now argues that it is entitled to a default judgment because ASV failed to appear or otherwise defend itself after proper service of the complaint.

The company is asking the court to award the alleged unpaid balance, together with any applicable interest, costs, and other relief authorized by law. Before entering judgment, courts typically review whether service was proper and whether the plaintiff has adequately supported its damages claims.

The court has not yet ruled on Lifted Liquids’ request for a default judgment.
